PROJECT 2: WEEK 1 The Two Concepts

Palace of Assembly, Chandigarh S ainte Marie de la Tourette, Lyon 1. Architecture that is intertwined with nature bring about a sense of serenity and restoration from the quick- paced society.  2. A sense of symmetry seen in Architecture creates balance and stability.  3. Reflection between buildings and nature emphasise their strong connection, as there exists an illusion that the building is created within the nature.  4. The intersection between curved and straight surfaces create a striking contrast between the two concepts, yet has potential to come together and produce something hopeful.  5. Alone, rectangular blocks may look bland, however as they unite together, it creates a complex aesthetic that is stable and strong- an empowerin...

PROJECT 3: WEEK 1 ONE THEORY

Words - Geometry   - Structural system   - Patterns and symmetry constraints   - Important to select the right objective function   Words turned into Theories   1. Geometry allows architecture to become more complex and intriguing, however, there are constraints to its design such as the way it is engineered.   2. There are both hidden and exposed aspects to architecture, however they are both intertwined with structural features that adds to the aesthetic, or else hidden by a facade.   3. Although patterns and symmetry may seem repetitive and simplistic, with careful designing, it may provide an aesthetic advantage through adding more complexity to the architecture.   4. Without an objective, there is no architecture, without a problem, there is no objective. Architecture is only created with a plausible and clear objective.   Chosen Theory   “Geometry allows architecture to become more complex and intri...
